The Financial Assistance Fund was established to assist individuals, primarily women, experiencing major health issues-related to heart disease and/or breast cancer, as well as family and youth crisis/assistance.
    • In December 2002, Women of Virtue established the WOV Financial Assistance Fund.  This Fund was established to financially assist individuals, primarily women, who are going through financial hardships due to major illnesses and/or family crises.  It was inspired by the struggle of WOV's CEO's godsister.  Realizing that no matter what your occupation, when certain illnesses befall an individual finances can be a major problem and a hindrance to full physical and emotional recovery due to the stresses that develop because of the lack of.
    • For many Americans the inability to afford comprehensive healthcare insurance or short-term disability insurance during a major medical experience creates a variety of hardships for families.  Financial obligations are increased, while income is decreased, during these times of illness or crisis.  Women of Virtue wishes to do its part in helping to alleviate some of that hardship by providing financial assistance.  Women of Virtue will partner with local medical establishments, such as the Lombardi Cancer Institute, Howard University and other organizations such as human service departments, churches etc., and be a resource to those who may need some financial assistance during their recovery period.  In 2004 we assisted 3 individuals; in 2005 we assisted 1 individual; in 2006 we assisted 1 individual that was previously assisted in 2004 and 1 other-total 2 for 2006; and thus far in 2007 we have assisted 1 individual in 3 areas of need and we have shared our applications with many to pass on to those they feel are in need.
