2010 AND 2011 UPCOMING EVENTS---

WE ARE WORKING ON PLACING THE YOUTH CLUBS in CHARTER and/or PUBLIC SCHOOLS AS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2011-2012 THE ROSEBUDS (6 - 12 years) and the "Young Ladies of Virtue" (YLOV) (13 - 17 years)

TO HAVE OPERATIONAL OUR "HOUSE OF VIRTUE" PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITY -
-GAP (GED ATTAINMENT PATH) - FOR AGES 18 - 25; SERVING THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY MARYLAND TO START, THIS PROGRAM WILL INCORPORATE OUR "GET (GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING)" AND OUR "COB (COLLEGE ONWARD BOUND)" FOR THE PARTICIPANTS, AFTER ATTAINING THEIR GED, THEY CHOOSE THE NEXT PROGRAM OPTION TO BE ASSISTED FROM START TO EMPLOYMENT OR POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION. Note: Our "GET" Program will also become available as a separate program serving the DMV area.
-THROW (Teaching Health Resources, Options and Wisdom). THIS PROGRAM IS A CONTINUATION AND MORE IN-DEPTH SPIN OFF OF OUR HEALTH DISPARITIES INITIATIVE, WHERE WE PARTNERED WITH MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY UNDER THE National Library of Medicine (NLM)/National Institutes of Health (NIH) GRANT FOR HEALTH DISPARTIES.

TO HAVE OUR ANNUAL WOMEN'S CONFERENCE IN JUNE 2010

SOME OF THE THINGS WOV HAS ACCOMPLISHED IN 2009!

   Launched our WOV Clubs for Young Ladies of Virtue (YLOV)-Why Luv You?-Because U Have Virtue)!
      This club will be for young ladies ages 13 - 17 years, meeting a minimum of 2 Saturdays per month, being nurtured and developed in the areas of self awareness, self esteem, health, finance, basic life skills, emotional intelligence(anger and stress management), potential and talent discovery and community outreach. It is a Rites of Virtue, learning, applying and living Virtues. The club will begin in March 2009. Location TBD.

   Launched our Rose Buds Club for little young ladies ages 6 -12 years
      This club will meet once a month, being nurtured and developed in the areas of self awareness, self esteem, health, finance, basic life skills, potential and talent discovery and community outreach. The club will begin in mid-February 2009. Location TBD.

   ·        Continue participating as a Community Partner and as the Lead in Grant writing and submission for funding.

    ·        Planning Capital Campaign to locate and purchase building for WOV.

    ·        Major Fundraisers implemented and other major events.

   ·        Recruit, Recruit and Recruit!
